Blair Watters served in a variety of capacities in the United States Congress, most recently she was the Director of Special Projects for the House Democratic Caucus under Chairman Bob Menendez (NJ-13).
In the House Democratic Caucus Ms. Watters managed policy taskforces related to Tax, Budget, Crime, Military, Jobs and Economy; all Member Services activities and served as a House Floor assistant for Chairman Menendez.
Prior to Ms. Watters’ experience at the Caucus, she was Representative Karen McCarthy’s Chief of Staff for the Washington, D.C. office and managed Rep. McCarthy’s assignment to the exclusive House Committee on Energy and Commerce, including the Subcommittees of Telecommunications and the Internet; Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection and Oversight and Investigations.
Blair also worked for the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA) as Director of Public Policy, handling trade and telecommunications issues; creating and implementing telecommunications and e-commerce policy for Fortune 500 members and assisted companies in developing and implementing political and grassroots strategies.
Upon first arriving in Washington, DC in 1997, Ms. Watters worked as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Matthew Martinez (CA-31). She also served as an intern for the late Representative Walter Capps (CA-22).
